Singularity dynamics: Action and Reaction

چکیده

The interaction between singular and regular fields is considered for Lorentzinvariant scalar and vector wave equations. The singular field is generated by a Dirac source term. Its dynamics are deduced from the total field Lagrangian. At nonrelativistic speeds, the resulting equations of motion are those of a mass in a scalar potential. Using this method we deduce the relationship between source amplitude (scalar gravitational mass) and dynamic mass (inertial mass). Generalising this method implies Lorentz forces for charge singularities in the electromagnetic field and describes the dynamics and interaction of hypothetical magnetic monopoles.

Molecular Dynamics Simulation of Al/NiO Thermite Reaction Using Reactive Force Field (ReaxFF)

In this work, the thermal reaction of aluminum (Al) and nickel oxide (NiO) was investigated by molecular dynamics simulations. Some effective features of reaction such as reaction temperature, the reaction mechanism, and diffusion rate of oxygen into aluminum structure were studied. ReaxFF force field was performed to study the Al/NiO thermite reaction behavior at five different temperatures (5...

Particle Creation in the Marginally Bound, Self Similar Collapse of Inhomogeneous Dust

We consider the evaporation of the (shell focusing) naked singularity formed during the self-similar collapse of a marginally bound inhomogeneous dust cloud, in the geometric optics approximation. We show that, neglecting the back reaction of the spacetime, the radiation on I+ tends to infinity as the Cauchy Horizon is approached. Two consequences can be expected from this result: (a) that the ...

The tail effect in gravitational radiation-reaction: time non-locality and renormalization group evolution

We use the effective field theory (EFT) framework to calculate the tail effect in gravitational radiation reaction, which enters at 4PN order in the dynamics of a binary system. The computation entails a subtle interplay between the near (or potential) and far (or radiation) zones. In particular, we find that the tail contribution to the effective action is non-local in time, and features both ...

Modeling neuronal bursting: singularity theory meets neurophysiology∗

Exploiting the specific structure of neuron conductance-based models, the paper investigates the mathematical modeling of neuronal bursting. The proposed approach combines singularity theory and geometric singular perturbations to unfold the geometry of multiple time-scales attractors in the neighborhood of high-codimension singularities. We detect a three-time scale bursting attractor in the u...

Reaction dynamics during the testing of polymerization catalyst

The olefins polymerization process in a slurry reactor is discussed. The reaction rate dynamics was analyzed and the contributions of feed flow, gas-liquid mass transfer, polymerization reaction, and catalyst deactivation were estimated. The propylene solubility in a solvent mixture “heptane” was calculated using Soave-Redlich-Kwong equation of state. These data were then approximated by Henry-...
